value village, stop trying to rob people. everything is donation, keep it cheap. the people who visit the store are overwhelmingly low income

This place is now despicable.. I used to shop here ALL THE TIME in the past and donated all of my unwanted stuff to them. But they have gotten ridiculously overpriced lately. I haven't bought anything here in over a year and no longer donate anything to them. The greed will be the downfall of this company. I now give my stuff away for free on Marketplace or take it to Goodwill, where prices for used stuff is still reasonable. Im boycotting all these VV stores.

Went there today and had a very nasty customer service experience with a miserable woman working the jewelry counter. I had been looking at a scarf that was priced at 17.99 Hudson Bay scarf and decided I didn’t want it. I put the item down on the counter at jewelry and she snapped at me saying you’re not getting this ? And I said no thank you it’s a bit too expensive and she snapped back saying well it doesn’t go there and I said sorry I can put it where it goes. She said no and snatched it off the counter and huffed. I went back and said sorry it was expensive and I wasn’t sure if it should be on the floor or behind the counter and she said NO. If it was on the floor that’s where it goes not here. And walked away. I apologized again and felt like crying she was so nasty. I spend a ton on money in value village and did not deserve to be treated that way. I hadn’t been to the welland location for a few months because I was treated so rudely and thought that I would try again maybe new staff would be working there this time and I wouldn’t have to be talked to like garbage. But alas I was wrong. I will avoid that store and continue to shop at value village locations around my area. I drive 40 minutes to shop in welland and from now on I will drive elsewhere and make sure all my family and friends are aware of the terrible service they will endure if they go to welland.

I don’t come here often because I’m out of town but I love coming in because of how organized and clean and tidy it is. Thrift stores don’t have to be a mess. This brings dignity and relaxation to the second hand shopping experience. I feel confident that items are in good shape and gently used. Whoever manages the place has high standards for cleanliness and organization which is very much appreciated and the reason why I make my out of town trips. The prices however are out of hand I must say and hardly a deal.

They have good stuff, but the prices are insane lately. They wanted $50 for a pair of carrhart pants that were only $10 more new. There’s no point in buying used if u can get new and better for essentially the same price. Most things here are $15 +. Disgusting that they charge this much for things they get for free. And you can’t even try anything on anymore.

I come to this store fairly often, I have spent a few grand total across all the local value villages in the past few years and donate regularly. Came in today and the security guard followed and watched me the entire time with zero good reason, probably profiling me just for being alternative. I was carrying a purse so small it hardly fit my wallet and phone let alone stolen things. There was also a person walking around the store while I was there with a full size backpack on and hood up, yet he still chose to follow me around. I no longer feel comfortable shopping here with this security guard working here

We frequently visit Value Village and often spend more than we plan because of the great deals. That said, you should be very careful to only buy when you know it's a deal. We have found multiple things on this trip alone that we have purchased for $4 or less elsewhere priced as high as $9.99 used!

Use to be one of the better priced Value Villages around but now it's so over priced. The price of CDs here are ridiculous (I've seen $10 and even $20 price points) especially for the horrible condition most of them are in. They also want top dollar for shoes with worn out soles. No change rooms which works in the favour of their horrible return policy. They've got plenty of money to spend on security guards (to protect donated second hand goods) and expensive self check out machines but yet you can't get decent customer service here most of the time.
