I went to the store on Sept.30 2024… I purchased two items, one a small kids game and the other a Pickwick candle priced at $26.95…I noticed the only personal in store a man I have seen there before put a sticker over the price tag on candle. Didn’t think too much about it till I looked at receipt when I got home.. I was charged $28.95 for candle,I carefully removed sticker where the price tag clearly said $26.95…Went backed to store told the man what I found he got very nervous and started fumbling with register..I knew this was no mistake .
Customers BEWARE …I believe this was intentional and has probably been a practice at this store for some time…..

One of my favorite shops to visit in downtown OP! They always have such fun items to browse and look at it. It is a good mix of locally made products, and national products that are a little less known or super quirky. They always have good house music playing in the store and I always enjoy walking around the store. The staff has always been very helpful and pleasant, which is a huge bonus. it is definitely a good store to visit if you are looking for a gift, knick-knacks, retro candy, fun kitchen items (ex. oven mitts with funny/crude sayings on them), candles, stationary, toys, and pretty much everything in between!

A unique store, certainly worth a stop if you're in the downtown Overland Park area - so long as you don't visit it with children and don't offend easily. While I more than appreciated their selection of unique Kansas City themed items, chocolates, and more, the language on many of the items was awful, and would be impossible to overlook if one were shopping with a family.

Think if a Spencer Gifts were to become a downtown boutique and you have a decent understanding of what the store carries in it's selection. Thinking of that, consider whether you'd want to visit that store or not and with whom.

Bonus star for being s local store in the world of Amazon, but I don't need to return there anytime soon.

I happened upon this store and so glad I did! It's an eclectic array of cute, inappropriately hilarious, unique gifts, candles and KC themed items - It may be a quaint little store but I could spend hours looking at all the fun things they have! Highly recommend to stop in if you're in the area!

1. Downtown Overland Park is highly underrated!!!!!
2. General Store is one of the many, but best perks of visiting.
Honestly, I've done my all my big celebration day shopping here in downtown overland park, and I ALWAYS stop at the General Store. They have candles, jams, jewelry, socks... literally everything. I have never bought something I was disappointed in. In fact I have always found something g extra that I didnt know I needed but definitely did.

Adorable! From the wine glass chandeliers to the First Lady paper doll books - this shop screams quirky and unique. Great for gifts. I live in Los Angeles and not easily impressed by much (yes, we are that jaded in LA), but this little store won me over. Clever, smart, and most importantly, great sense of humor.
