Great experience today. They could not find my Summer tires I had left with them for a warranty claim, so they gave me a great deal on new Tires, with oil and filter change. Which turned-out to be cheaper than all the items I originally requested, plus new Tires! This is unusual circumstances of course, but they came good. The mechanic even put the Wheel-nut key back where he found it etc. Very knowledgeable too. Thanks Vincent and crew.

When deciding on a garage to prepare my car for an extend overland trip. The team at the Gear Shop answered that call. From the beginning their hospitable staff listened to my needs, provided a clear quote on the cost and length of the process. Executing the project with attention to detail. While my vehicle was in their care, they keep in contact about the progress. The staff even informed me of items my car wasn’t in need of that I had originally requested. In the end my experience with the Gear Shop has been a phenomenal one. By providing solid work, good communication and being genuinely enthusiastic about a project. They will certainly be seeing my car again after my trip for any future needs it might have. Thank you.

Fast and professional service. The Gear Shop was able order my winter tires in and get them installed in a very timely manner. Good communication was maintained every step of the way. Would highly recommend to friends, family, and anyone needing vehicle work done.

The first time I went into The Gear Shop, I was just inquiring if they did seasonal tire changeovers for my little car at the time. Right off the bat, I felt welcomed and comfortable by everyone there - something I hadn’t experienced at mechanic shops previously. They were honest, answered all my questions (no matter how small), and friendly. The passion they have for vehicles and specialty builds is clear, and because of that, I’ve since purchased my own off-road capable truck. They’ve helped me build it from the bottom up, with superior work done every time. They’ve continued to be honest and up front about everything from cost to necessity to wait times, and I’m so grateful to have found a shop I can trust with everything maintenance, repair, and upgrade related. These folks really know their stuff and are just the friendliest mechanics I’ve ever met. Definitely recommend giving them a visit.

Great guys to deal with. Good value and details explained regarding the work. Not the cheapest in town but I’d say the best value in Calgary for quality work and expertise for 4wds!

Pretty much went to every custom off-road shop to discuss my Toyota Pickup build. The Gear shop was last on the list as some other shops in the area had higher reviews. They were by far the most helpful with the planning of the build and offered some great input and guidance. Communication has been excellent and they are very easy to get ahold of for updates. I’m still waiting on parts so I’ll provide another review once the work is complete. I really feel this shop should have a 5 star rating. All the staff is excellent and everyone seems to be stoked on working there. Ignore the older reviews and give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Great friendly bunch of guys, fun shop to visit, good community. They were very clear in explaining what they were going to do with my truck. Vic was real personable. The overall customer experience wasn't the best. It took two hours on a Friday afternoon for a wheel alignment. I get they're busy, that's fine, but with no word of warning beforehand I'm wondering why I left work early and spent my Friday afternoon walking around the shop. Glad they had free WiFi! But they didn't have anywhere comfortable to sit for two hours - just 2 stools and a couch with broken springs. Even Enterprise offers coffee and a comfortable seat. Plus I only came here to get a wheel alignment done because they had a fabricator in the shop who could look at a few other things for me. Turns out their fabricator was on maternity leave (back around January 2019), which they could have told me beforehand. So overall, I liked the friendly staff, but a few tips for improving the overall experience.

The Gear Shop is top tier service. Plain and simple.
I had some repairs that needed to be completed, but also wanted to upgrade suspension on my Tacoma. The staff are all incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, while not being pushy whatsoever. There are no hidden costs or surprises. I was given a quote for the work upfront, and they actually managed to finish the job under budget - saving me several hundred dollars. Plus, my truck looks bomb diggity!

At one point or another I'm fairly certain I spoke with every staff member, and was very pleased with the customer service.

When you go to a high end restaurant, you don't expect to get your meal served at McDonald's take-out speed. Good quality work takes time. In the end, it is totally worth it because the job is done right the first time.

If you are scouring Kijiji for the absolute lowest price and plan to take a shot at doing the work in the own garage (hoping everything goes well), The Gear Shop might seem expensive. However, if you want the best quality work done exactly the way you want it, this is the only phone call you need to make.
