I went here for a costume for the Renaissance Festival. The gentleman Alex was extremely helpful. It was a lot of costumes to choose from at reasonable prices. I can't wait to go here for Halloween. This place met all my expectations.

Horrible customer service experience. I called ahead of time for a costume which they said they had in stock at their office but not the showroom. I then asked if it could be at the showroom store for pickup before 4pm. The woman on the phone said yes. I arrived at 3:45pm and had to wait over and hour because the woman forgot to bring it to the showroom and when the clerk called her multiple times she said she would be right there multiple times. The clerk also told me the office was only 10-15 minutes away but again did not show up until over an hour later.

The best place in the Rochester area for all your costume needs. They have the best selection of theatre makeup and accessories. They have been in the business for many years and the customer service and experience is what you will get when you shop at Arlene's, Rochester's original costume store.

After having a bad first visit I went back a day before Halloween. I was there withy mother , cousin, boyfriend and brother. We were all browsing.. my bf and I decided to look for vampire costumes and he wanted a mask so we were looking at them . I showed him one similar to a mask he wanted then put it back . The older white man with grayish hair ASSUMED that I slipped it into my inside pocket of my coat. The mask is more than 2x the size of my pocket. He told need to take whatever I put in my jacket out and I told him I didn't have anything and already put it back ,so he went in my pocket and looked and seen nothing but my personal item. I was upset an embarrassed because I felt like I had just been racially profiled. He was already lurking/following us around us in the store . Afterwards he asked my mom was present in the store, I'm guessing he was going to kick us out if she wasn't but luckily she spoked and just told us to hurry so we can leave ASAP. The lady that works there with the dark hair is the BEST EMPLOYEE THERE , ONLY TALK TO HER AND WHOEVER CHECKS YOU OUT .

The folks at Arlene's have made our annual event a huge success. Pittsford Candlelight Night's star is the Grinch!! Dealing with Arlene's makes this aspect of party planning easy. Which is important when you have 400 quests!

Alex seemed very knowledgeable of his products and inventory. Easy to talk to and understood my needs for the Rock The Peace Christmas Gifts for the Children this Friday. He offered both purchase and rental options. It would be nice if he would donate the service or sale of the suit for this Friday's event. However, I understand it's a small family family business. Supporting local businesses is important to the community just as keep the community safe.
